With everyone I talk to, comes this resonance around creating a coherent town centre.  Both Victoria and Church Road need to become part of the centre, and multi-use, not dominated by the motorist.  Residents really need to get involved with the creating of the town plan.  The town council needs to be central to the solutions, as do principal partners at District and County level.  Only them working together with other partners will a vibrant, modern 21c. centre to the largest town in Dorset come together.  People like Gerry Clarke and Arts4All have made a great start though!

Ran past McDonald's last night at around 8pm.  Litter bins overflowing and at least 100 items of rubbish in Halfords car park alone.  Saw items of litter from Wimborne Road East to the entrance of Oakdene Holiday Park on the A31.  Have today mentioned it to Mr Duckett at EDDC, as the situation remains unacceptable for Ferndown residents - is not being taken seriously.

Represented Ferndown at the DCC event on the library reorganisation last week, with Cllr Terry Cordery.  Visits to recent Library coffee mornings and talking to residents present showed how much they value Ferndown Library's service.  And it is so much more than a book issuing repository.  Shows again the problems with cutting community resources and thus capacity, whilst expecting communities to 'do more'.  You have until 13th June to respond if you wish to support the future of your library in Ferndown?  See details of consultation at http://www.dorsetforyou.com/libraryconsultation2011

Litter is a problem in Ferndown and I want us all to get involved.  We can reduce vehicle littering by supporting an amendment to the Localism Bill.  I have written to Chris Chope OBE MP, and to the local press.  Why not help me?  See more at http://www.cpre.org.uk/how-you-can-help/take-action/litter/item/2067-help-us-stop-littering-from-cars
